INDUSTRIAL VISITS -
PIRAMAL healthcare ltd. Pithampur
The student got an opportunity to see a world class manufacturing facility nearby Indore. The students witnessed automated machines & equipment used to manufacture solid dosage form, injectables and ophthalmic preparations. They got a knowhow of Form Fill Seal Machine used for preparation of ophthalmics.
The company has a well organized warehouse facility for Raw Material, Packing Material Finished Good storage. Dedicated areas for under test, approved & rejected materials which are duly labeled in different color codes to avoid mix-up. Emphasis on the control measures taken to avoid cross contamination was made by the authorities. Importance of cleaning & sanitation methods adopted in the manufacturing facility was made to understand.
The Pharmacist explained the Quality control and Quality Assurance system adopted to build the quality in the product from the initial stage. The Quality Control & the In Process Quality Control (IPQC) was an impressive experience. Quality Control had a separate working area for Instrumentation, HPLC & GC & wet analysis.
The visit and the subsequent knowledge about the concepts of CGMP & GLP were an eye-opener for the students. The stress given on Health & Hygiene & environment control was beyond imagination. A glimpse of ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant) for the treatment of waste material was a wonderful experience for budding pharmacists.
